The NAA of Ukraine provides training for scientific and scientific-pedagogical professionals of higher qualification in the field of culture and art (PhD) and their certification.
The NAA of Ukraine takes an integral part in the development of proposals and recommendations for improving the forms of higher art education, contributes to the development of the creative activity of artists and scientists, in particular in the preparation of scientific works on art and culture, and organizes the advanced training for artists, scientists, and teachers of art education institutions.  
Direct training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of higher qualification in the field of culture and art is carried out by the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine and the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, which organize the training of applicants at the third level of higher education for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the Major 034 "Cultural Studies", Field of Knowledge 03 "Humanities".

The postgraduate study at the Modern Art Research Institute of the NAA of Ukraine provides training at the third level of higher education for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the Major 034 "Cultural Studies", Field of Knowledge 03 "Humanities".
The training of higher education applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the postgraduate course of the MARI of the NAA of Ukraine is funded by the state (state order).

Institute for Cultural Research of the NAA of Ukraine jointly with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, pursuant to paragraph 4 of the new "Procedure for the Training of Higher Education Applicants for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science in Higher Education Institutions (Research Institutions)" approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 23.03.2016 under No. 261, initiated the foundation of an inter-institutional postgraduate program in the Major 034 "Cultural Studies", Field of Knowledge 03 "Humanities".

The educational and scientific programme for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the Major 034 "Cultural Studies" will be implemented by a project group consisting of specialists from the Department of Cultural Studies of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Institute for Cultural Research of the NAA of Ukraine.
