About the Institute for Cultural Research of the NAA of Ukraine
Institute for Cultural Research of the NAA of Ukraine (ІCR of the NAA of Ukraine) is a science and research institution of Ukraine, that carries out fundamental scientific research in the field of cultural studies, as a system of knowledge about the essence of culture, patterns and development of the human environment. The research team of the Institute focuses its studies on the culture as a highly complex system that unites many subsystems, as a global phenomenon that is originally associated with human development.
It was founded under the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 30.05.2007 under No. 357-r and the decision of the Presidium of the NAAU dated 14.06.2007

The Institute for Cultural Research of the NAA of Ukraine jointly with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, in conformity with paragraph 4 of the new "Procedure for the Training of Higher Education Applicants for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science in Higher Education Institutions (Research Institutions)", approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 23.03.2016 under No. 261, initiated the creation of interinstitutional postgraduate studies in the Major 034 "Cultural Studies". With this form of organisation of scientific education, it is possible to ensure the high academic quality of educational and research opportunities, and bring together young and experienced scholars in a collegial professional community, which makes it feasible to create unique project teams to carry out interdisciplinary research projects in the field of cultural studies. The educational and research programme for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 034 "Cultural Studies" will be delivered by a project team consisting of specialists from the Department of Cultural Studies of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
Admission
Applications and supporting documents for the competitive selection of applicants for postgraduate studies at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy are accepted in electronic form. The applicant shall attach the following documents to the e-mail: - an application filled out in the required form;- CV (resume) made up according to the established form;- a research proposal, drawn up according to the recommendations and in the required form (signed by the author);- a personnel record sheet, drawn up in the required form;- an electronic copy of an identity document provided for by the Law of Ukraine "On the Unified State Demographic Register and Documents Proving Citizenship, Identity or Special Status";- an electronic copy of the tax identification number certificate;- an electronic copy of a state-issued document on a previously obtained master's degree (specialist's degree), on the basis of which the admission is made, with its supplement;- electronic copies of published scientific papers and inventions (if any);- electronic copies of valid TOEFL or International English Language Testing System test certificates or Cambridge English Language Assessment certificate (if any) together with an application in the required form. All provided copies of electronic documents will be certified against the originals in accordance with the procedure established by law during the admission to the postgraduate study at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
