Musienko Oksana is a Ukrainian film critic, Candidate of Arts (1973), Associate Professor (1978), Professor (2005), Honoured Artist of Ukraine (1998), Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2001), Member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine (1975) and the Ukrainian Film Academy (2019).
After graduating from the Faculty of Philosophy at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (1960), Musienko successfully continued her academic career. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 1970. Three years later, in 1973, she successfully defended her PhD thesis on the topic "The Image of the Defender of the Motherland on the Screen".
She then began working at a technical college as a teacher of aesthetics and as a researcher at the Film Studies Department of the Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnography. In 1973, she was invited to work by I. S. Kornienko, the director of the Ivan Karpenko-Kary Kyiv University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, where she has been working ever since.

From 1991 to 2013, O. Musienko was the Head of the Department of Film Studies at the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, where she lectured on film history, film criticism and research methods. She is also a member of the Scientific Council of the University, the Artistic Council of the Institute of Screen Arts of the University, the editorial board of the Scientific Bulletin, a thesis and diploma supervisor and an opponent at PhD defences.
