Vira Barynova-Kuleba was awarded the Order of Princess Olha, 3rd class (2008), and the Silver Medal of the AAU (2008).
Position: Professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
The creative heritage, which includes a considerable number of easel paintings, portraits, landscapes and still lifes, is a significant page in the Ukrainian fine arts. Philosophical thinking, an impressive ability to generalise in various compositions, colouristic skills are harmoniously combined with the psychological traits of a refined master of easel painting. A series of works (about 200 canvases) "Ancient and Modern", dedicated to the life of people of her native Poltava region, became a valuable contribution to the development of national culture. The artist's work constantly attracts the interest of art lovers and art critics.

Kobylyanska" (1982), "News from the Front" (1984), "In the Name of Life" (1985) triptych, "A Lesson in Peace" (1987), a series of paintings "Ancient and Modern Times" (1986-2004), "Vyacheslav Chornovil, a Prominent Public Figure, Politician" (2002), "Christ Is Risen" (2003-2004), "Prayer" (2004), "In a Green Grove Near Hadiach" (2003-2004), "Unforgettable" (2004), "Roses and Sculpture" (2004), "Spring Flowers in Joy" (2004), "Fishermen" (2004), "Autumn Still Life. Chrysanthemums" (2004), "Don't Kiss Me, Ivanko, the Geese Will See", "Grandfather Mykola and Grandmother Marfa in the Years of Holodomor. 1932-33" (2007), "Thorny Grasses" (2010), "My Father in the Field" (2010), "Come Buy" (2010), "It Was, It Is and It Will Be" (2010).

Biography

1938 – was born on 1 December in Rymarivka village, Hadiach district, Poltava region.
1965 – graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute.
1965-1968 – postgraduate student of creative workshops of the Academy of Arts of the USSR.
1968 – started her teaching career at the Kyiv State Art Institute (now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture).
1994 — Professor.
2006 – appointed a corresponding member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
2011 – Honorary Professor of the Nanjing Art Institute ''Xiaojuan''.
2017 – Academician of the NAA of Ukraine
Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
