In Ukraine, the laureates of the 2026 Taras Shevchenko National Prize — the highest state award in the field of culture and the arts — have been announced.

The winners in the categories of Prose, Literary Studies and Art Criticism, Publicism and Journalism, Concert and Performing Arts, Theatre Arts, Cinema Arts, Visual Arts, Photography, Decorative and Applied Arts, and Creative Curation of Cultural and Artistic Projects were announced by the Committee of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine during the award ceremony on March 9.
We warmly congratulate our colleagues on their honourable awards and express our gratitude for their tireless creative work for the benefit of the Motherland!
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On the Awarding of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine” dated 05.03.2026 No. 220/2026, Ukrainian artists and cultural figures were recognized, including:
- Art historian and honorary academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Olesia Avramenko, for her popular-scientific art studies in the authorial series Accent – three books: BILOKUR, PRYKHODKO, TISTOL;
- Sculptor and corresponding member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Nazar Bilyk, for the Memorial to Ukrainian Intelligence Officers and the sculpture series Disturbed Space and Alloy;
- Film scholar and corresponding member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Serhii Trymbach, for the book Ivan Mykolaichuk. Mysteries of Fate;
- Curator and research fellow at the Department of Cultural Strategies, Initiatives, and Technologies of the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Valerii Sakharuk, for the cultural and artistic project 30x30. Contemporary Ukrainian Art.
