The opening ceremony was attended by:
Victor Sydorenko, President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine;
Yurii Vakulenko, Vice President and Academician of the NAA of Ukraine;
Anatolii Kryvolap, Academician of the NAA of Ukraine;
Olesia Avramenko and Yurii Komelkov, Honorary Academicians of the NAA of Ukraine;
Andriy Sydorenko, Academic Secretary of the Modern Art Research Institute of the NAA of Ukraine.

Victoria Mukha, Director General of the Kyiv History Museum, remarked: “Today we witness the realisation of an ambitious and large-scale idea, actively supported and developed by the former Director General of the Kyiv History Museum, Diana Popova. Despite the challenges of wartime, a new museum has opened in Kyiv — the Museum of the Avant-Garde. This became possible through the collaboration of artists, collectors, scholars, cultural practitioners, municipal authorities, and partners. Over the past year, we have moved from the decision to establish the Museum of the Avant-Garde to welcoming our first visitors in this new space. Throughout this time, the team has worked on expanding the collection, which now includes nearly 300 works representing various movements of the avant-garde. Residents and guests of the capital may now explore two important art projects dedicated to the struggle for self-identity.”
