On March 27, International Theatre Day, the Grand Hall of the Presidium of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine was transformed into an exhibition space, bringing together the achievements of renowned professional educators and students from two leading art institutions of Ukraine.

The exhibition “Scenography of the Young: Challenges of the Time” became a unique platform where students of the Department of Scenography and Multimedia of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, and the Department of Puppetry Arts of the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University presented their best works.

These creative projects testify to the inspiration and dedication of young people and, most importantly, to their powerful potential in shaping the artistic space of the future Ukrainian theatre.

The ceremonial event was attended by: President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine Victor Sydorenko, Vice-Presidents Yuriy Vakulenko and Oles Sanin, and Academicians Oleksiy Bezghin and Nataliia Vladymyrova.

During the opening of the exhibition, for their significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian science and culture, the Presidium of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine awarded the Distinction to Tetiana Mironova, Director of the Kyiv Municipal Art Gallery “Lavra” and Doctor of Art Studies; the Honorary Diploma of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine was awarded to Oleksandr Kukhar, Head of the Exhibition Department of the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery.”

For their many years of significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian stage culture, the Gold Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine was awarded to
- Oksana Dmitriieva, Chief Director of the Kharkiv State Academic Puppet Theatre named after V. A. Afanasiev, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Lesia Ukrainka Prize for literary and artistic works for children and youth; - Olha Semioshkina, Chief Ballet Master of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre and Honoured Artist of Ukraine; and - Oleg Tatarynov, Chief Artist of the Kyiv Academic Theatre of the Young Spectator at Lypky and Honoured Artist of Ukraine.

The Silver Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine was awarded to
- Valeriy Dzekh, actor of the Kharkiv State Academic Puppet Theatre named after V. A. Afanasiev and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; - Anastasiia Kolodiuk, First Deputy Director General of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine; and- Halyna Pavlenko, research fellow at the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine and theatre scholar.

The Presidium’s Distinction was also awarded to
- Iryna Drobot, Director of the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine; - Oksana Poviakel, Director General of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine; - Akhtem Seitablaiev, Director of the State Enterprise “Crimean House,” founder and director of the Veterans Theatre, Honoured Artist of Ukraine and Honoured Artist of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; and - Yevhen Khudzyk, founder and head of the School Theatre of the Ukrainian Catholic University “On Simon’s Pillars” and assistant at the Department of Theatre Studies and Acting named after Bohdan Kozak at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The Honorary Diploma of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine was awarded to Tetiana Rudenko, Chief Custodian of the funds of the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine, as well as to masters of decorative and applied arts Viktoriya Fil' and Alina Khodan.
