News Visit of the Praesidium of the NAA of Ukraine to Zenyk Art Gallery

On October 10, within the framework of a working visit to Lviv, members of the Praesidium of the NAA of Ukraine visited Zenyk Art Gallery, where they were introduced to the exhibition “Paradise/Hell.”

16.10.2025

The exhibition represents a significant cultural event, bringing together in one space the works of Albrecht Dürer and Marcantonio Raimondi, Dutch still-life masters of the 17th century, 19th-century graphic art, 16th-century Ukrainian icon painting, as well as contemporary Ukrainian art.
The project is conceived not only as an artistic presentation but also as a dialogue — about boundaries and choices, about the path that traverses both time and the human being, about the invisible spiritual struggle that endures across generations. The exhibition invites the viewer to reflect not on “What do I see?” but rather “What do I feel?”
According to Zenyk Art Gallery Director and Curator Khrystyna Berehovska: “This exhibition is not about what we see. It is about what we feel, about the boundary that is finer than it seems. About the hell one experiences in the morning, and the paradise one creates in the evening. It is about inner choice, and about honesty with oneself.”
The exhibition features 145 works by 66 artists. Among them are not only artistic creations but also cultural witnesses of war — works rescued from front-line territories. They represent what has endured and what continues to carry the pain of the present. Ukrainian artists whose works are included in the exhibition are: Illia Trofimchuk (T-GOIS), Oleksii Abramov, Mariana Motyka, Danylo Turii, Mira Bachkur, Mykola Molchan, Rina Riga, Matvii Vaisberg, Arsen Savadov, Andrii Strakhov, Stepan Andrusiv, Yuliia Dolynska, Olha Pohribna-Kokh, Oleksandr Honcharuk, Valerii Kuznietsov, Ruslan Luchko, Oksana Borysova, Orest Ivasiuta, as well as Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine Andrii Bokotey and Corresponding Member of the Academy Mykhailo Bokotey.

The visit was attended by Viktor Sydorenko, President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine; Vice Presidents Yurii Vakulenko and Oles Sanin; Academicians Andrii Bokotey and Andrii Chebykin; and Corresponding Member Mykhailo Bokotey.

As part of the programme, a meeting was also held with Zinovii Kozytskyi, founder and owner of the art space. The discussion addressed urgent issues of the cultural and artistic life of Ukraine in times of war.
