Oleksiy Bezgin holds the Order of Merit of the 1st (2015), 2nd (2009) and 3rd (2004) classes, the Silver Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2009), the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 5th class (2019), Honourable Mention in Education of Ukraine, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit to Lithuania (2003), Medal of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine "For High Achievements in Training of Cultural and Arts Personnel", Badge of Honour "For Development of Education", Honorary Award of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine "For Longstanding Effort in the Sphere of Culture", Honorary Award "For Public Activity" from the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Diploma of Honorary Professor of the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, the Order of St Stanislav of the 2nd and 3rd class, the Order of St Nestor the Chronicler of the 3rd class, Order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr the Great, 3rd class, Order of Cyril and Methodius.
Head of the I. D. Bezgin Department of Theatre Management. After completing his postgraduate studies at the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography named after M.K. Cherkasov, he began lecturing at the Kyiv State I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre Art Institute. He trained many specialists in theatre management. From 1995 to 2001, he held the positions of chief consultant, deputy head of the Department for Humanitarian Affairs, head of the Department for Analysis and Forecasting of Cultural Development, Interethnic and Interfaith Relations of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine. In 2001-2003, O. Bezgin worked as the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania. Since 2003, he has been the rector of the Kyiv State I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre Art Institute. Under Bezgin's leadership, the institute acquired the status of the National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television. A new vision of the prospects for the educational, methodological and scientific development of the university, the enhancement of opportunities for improving the educational process, the university's numerous awards, prestigious international festivals and competitions, the publication of scientific and methodological literature, and a significant upgrade of the university's technical base testify to O. Bezgin's organisational talent.
О. Bezghin is the author of 50 scientific, educational works and publications, including: "The System of Theatre Management. The History of Organisational Forms (20-30s of the 20th Century)" (1984), "Theatre Pedagogy in the System of University Education" (2003), "From the Origins of Ukrainian Professional Theatre to Contemporary Issues of Art Education" (2005), "Art Education Challenges" (2008), "Methodology of Financial Support for Cultural Projects in Market Conditions: Worldwide Experience and Possibilities of Its Application in Ukraine" (2010, co-authored), "Professional Features of Drama Education" (2013).
