On January 15, the second round of the competition among the nominated literary and artistic works and projects for the 2026 Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine took place

During the meeting, through a secret ballot, the members of the Committee selected the works that will proceed to the third round of the competition. Among those present at the event were artists of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, including the President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Victor Sydorenko, Corresponding Members of the Academy, and People’s Artists of Ukraine Yevhen Nyshchuk and Volodymyr Sirenko.
“The Ukrainian word and Ukrainian art constitute an extraordinary space of freedom and responsibility toward society. I am pleased to see that many of the submitted works truly represent relevant meanings and high standards of Ukrainian culture,” noted Yevhen Nyshchuk, Chairman of the Committee for the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine.
