Valeriy Bitaiev – laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology (2005), Yaroslav the Wise Prize of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine (2005). He was awarded the Order of Merit, First Class (2020), Order of Merit, Second Class (2016), Order of Merit, Third Class (2011), Honourable Mention of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine (2000), Presidential Commendation (2001), Petro Mohyla Honourable Mention (2005), "Badge of Honour" from the Head of the Kyiv City State Administration (2006), Honorary Award "For Creative Achievements", first degree, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2006), Diploma of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2007), Silver Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2010), Order of St Andrew the First-Called, and other awards. He is an honorary citizen of the city of Kyiv (2021).
First Vice-President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.V. Bitaiev is committed to science, both in organisational, publishing and educational activities. He is a member of academic councils for the defence of doctoral and PhD theses; a member of the Presidium and Bureau of the Presidium of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Chairman of the Scientific and Expert Commission of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, member of the Coordination Council for Art Education and Science at the NAA of Ukraine, Chairman of the Commission of the Council for Scientific Research, Chairman of the Scientific and Expert Council of the NAA of Ukraine, as well as Chairman of the Editorial Board and Editor-in-Chief of a series of scientific and cultural publications.
Upon his initiative and under his leadership, a number of national and international scientific and creative conferences were held, which had a positive impact on the strengthening and deepening of research processes in the relevant fields of science. V. Bitaiev is a permanent member of many international non-governmental organisations, organising committees of creative festivals and competitions. V. Bitaiev is the President of the International Foundation of the NAA of Ukraine, a member of the Commission of the Committee on State Prizes of Ukraine named after Borys Paton, an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, a full member (academician) of the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters (France).
V. Bitaiev's scientific and methodological experience has been realised in the development of state programmes for cultural and artistic institutions, in the implementation of module-based training systems. As a teacher and mentor, he carries out efficient activities in training, retraining and professional development of artistic personnel of cultural and artistic institutions. Under his supervision, more than 10 PhD and several PhD Candidate's theses have been defended.

Biography

1951 – born on 20 January in Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region.1973 – graduated with honours from the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory with a degree in conducting and music teaching.1979 – completed postgraduate studies at the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory, specialising in Aesthetics.1979 – started teaching at the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory, gained a PhD Candidate.1982-1991 – worked as a senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, head of the department of the Institute for Advanced Training of Cultural Workers of the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR.1990-1992 – General Director of the Ukrainian branch of the Interculture Centre, a non-governmental international organisation (part-time).1991–1998 – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the State Academy of Management Personnel of Culture and Arts.1998-2012 – Vice-Rector for Research of the National Academy of Management Personnel of Culture and Arts.2009 – elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.2012 – Head of the Scientific and Organisational Department of the NAA of Ukraine.2017-2021 – Vice President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.Since 2022 – First Vice President of the NAA of Ukraine.
