Bohdan Kozak belongs to the group of artists of the National Academic Drama Theatre named after M. Zankovetska, who shape the style of the collective with their stage work. More than 100 roles performed by him demonstrate a wide range of creative abilities in productions of both national and international translated drama.
Among the roles he has played are Bryanskyi (The Flag-Bearers by O. Honchar), Mozart (Mozart and Salieri by A. Pushkin), Tartuffe (Tartuffe by J. Moliere), Mykola (Stolen Happiness by Ivan Franko), Voznyi (Natalka Poltavka by I. Kotliarevsky), Iago, Macbeth, Polonius (Othello, Macbeth, Hamlet by W. Shakespeare), Pilate (Jesus, the Son of the Living God by V. Bosovych), Peter I (Pavlo Polubotok by O. Bureviy), Patron (Orgy by L. Ukrainka). B. Kozak's directorial works (Lesya Ukrainka's Orphean Miracle, V. Vynnychenko's Natus, H. Ibsen's Nora, H. Zapolska's Little Frog, etc.) have become a part of the current repertoire of the Zankovetska theatre.
Bohdan Kozak's prolific teaching activities at the acting department of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Conservatory (1990-1998) became particularly noticeable when, in 1999, he helped to open the Department of Theatre Studies and Acting at the Faculty of Philology of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. This department, headed by Bohdan Kozak, was used as the basis for the Faculty of Culture and Arts, and Bohdan Kozak became its dean.

Kozak's graduates successfully work in theatres in Lviv, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Drohobych.The artist is the author of the monograph "Theatrical Echoes" (2010), he has compiled and commented on a number of scientific publications, including: "Les Kurbas. Theatre Laws and Accents", " H. Luzhnytskyi. Ukrainian theatre. Scientific works. Articles. Reviews", "Vsevolod Meyerhold. The Art of Theatre", "Theatre: History, Theory, Practice", Max Reinhardt "I am only a theatregoer" and others.

Head of the Department of Theatre Studies at the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

He was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th Class, the Order of Merit of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class, and the Gold Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
