Anatoly Kryvolap is a Ukrainian artist, a prominent author of Ukrainian non-figurative painting and landscape, a member of the art group "Zhyvopisnyi Zapovidnyk" (Zhyvopisny Zapovednik) (1991-1995).

The creative uniqueness of the artist is determined by the concept of working with large surfaces of extremely bright and pure colours in landscape painting. The artist conveys not a particular motif under certain lighting conditions, but its synthesised colouristic essence. Vivid colours are the basis of composition in his paintings. They act like the sounds of music, conveying the artist's state of mind, creating mood that encourages the viewer to a kind of meditation and deliberate philosophical reflections. The main theme of his work is the Ukrainian metaphysical landscape as a matter of attitude, the subject of human closeness to existence with a deep insight into the mystery of the forces of nature, the desire to comprehend its greatness and purity.
