Volodymyr Lesniak is a graphic designer with a broad creative range, a regular participant in numerous national and international exhibitions, an organizer and curator of various exhibitions and artistic events, and an educator. He is a laureate of international and Ukrainian design competitions. His work in graphic design spans book art, poster design, and typography. He masterfully applies various graphic techniques and digital technologies. Lesniak’s significant creative achievements have been repeatedly recognized with prestigious awards.

His major works include the poster series "65 Heroic Years" (1982), "Graphics of Kharkiv Artists" (1983), "Days of Kharkiv in Lille" (France, 1984), "Pushkin Readings" (1984), "Graphics of Kharkiv in Poland" (1987), and "Yevhen Pavlovych Yehorov" (1988), as well as posters for the Kharkiv Drama Theater for Mykhaylo Bulhakov’s plays (1993). He developed visual identities for the International Children's Centre "Artek" (1991), the Slavic Bazaar Expo Center (1996), the International Chess Olympiad in Artek (1999), and the Science of Kharkiv exhibition-competition (2000). His books include "Ancient Kharkiv in Postcards" (2004), "From Heart to Heart" (2004), "Banknotes and Coins" (2004), and "Best Contemporary Environmental Posters by Designers" (2005). He is also the author of "Display Typefaces," "Modernist and Postmodernist Typefaces," "The Fifth Element: Symbolic Graphics," and "Graphic Design."

1949 - born on 4 March in Vysokyi village, Kharkiv district, Kharkiv region.
1978 - graduated from Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute.
Since 1979 - lecturer, Dean of the Design Faculty of the Kharkiv Institute of Art and Industry.
Since 1994 - Professor of the Department of Graphic Design at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts.

In 1997, he was awarded the badge ‘For Contribution to the Development of Design’. Fundamentals of the Profession’ and others. Awarded the Silver Medal of the Association of Ukrainian Cities (2009).
