Lyubomyr Medvid is one of the most prominent experts in the theory and practice of art synthesis. During his long pedagogical and scientific career, he developed a number of innovative curricula, created an original textbook and trained a cluster of talented artists. 
L. Medvid's paintings are a vivid manifestation of the contemporary professional art of Ukraine, known beyond its borders. The master's works are preserved in museums in Ukraine and beyond and many private collections in the USA, Canada, Germany, and other countries boast to have his works. 
His oeuvre is widely covered in the press, and he is of interest to professional art critics. A special aspect of his activity is his research and writing. He is the author of numerous publications on the challenges of cultural studies, where he raises fundamentally important issues of form, content, and synthesis in art.

Militaria" (2004). Scientific research: collection "Horizons" (2001), "Some aspects of the imagery of the Eastern and Western Churches", "On the energy of "national myth" and "national culture", " Personal orbits in the universal cycle" (1997-2004), development of new type of programs in the disciplines "Drawing", "Painting", "Composition" (1995-2004), development of "Regulations on the training of students for the Master's degree in Lviv Academy of Arts" (2003), "Ye. 1941 — born on 10 July in the village of Varyazh, Sokal district, Lviv region.1965 — graduated from the Lviv State Institute of Applied Arts with a degree in Art Ceramics.1964—1965 – artist-decorator of the fashion showroom at the Design and Construction Institute of Light Industry of the Lviv Council of National Economy.1965—1966 – artist-architect of the capital construction department of the Lviv Truck Loader Plant.1966—1970 – lectured at the Department of Drawing of the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts.1970—1988 – he worked in the studio of the Lviv Art and Production Plant.1988—2001 – lectured at the Department of Painting of the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts.Since 2001 – Head of the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting of the Lviv National Academy of Arts.2002—2004 – Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts.
Position: Head of the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting at the Lviv National Academy of Arts.
Awards: the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 5th class (2009).
