The scientific contribution of Leonid Novokhatko, as recognized by experts in various fields of knowledge – aesthetics, cultural studies, and art history – is a significant component of the development of national scholarly thought. This becomes particularly evident in light of his research on the specific features of Ukrainian culture, the preservation of national identity, and comparative studies of Ukrainian cultural heritage with the artistic and cultural achievements of other countries.

His major scholarly works include the monographs: "Ukrainian Culture in the European Context", "Socio-Economic and Cultural Development of Ukraine (1920s-1930s)", "Germans and German Culture in Ukraine", "Jews and Jewish Culture in Ukraine", and others.

Most of L. Novokhatko’s publications have been released not only in Ukrainian but also in foreign languages, including German, English, and Italian. This plays a crucial role in the harmonious integration of Ukrainian cultural studies into the global academic and informational space.

1954 - born on 11 January in the village of Vechirky, Pyriatyn district, Poltava region.
1975 - he graduated from the History Department of the V. Korolenko Poltava Pedagogical Institute with a degree of Teacher in History and Social Studies.
1979 - entered postgraduate studies at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where he worked for 8 years as an Assistant and Associate Professor for 8 years.
1993 - Head of the Public Relations Sector, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Information and Public Relations in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
1994 - Head of the Service for Humanitarian Policy at the Presidential Administration of Ukraine.
1996-2005 - Deputy, later First Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts of Ukraine.
2005-2007 - Head of the Department of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
2010 - Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
2013-2014 - Minister of Culture of Ukraine.
Position: Head of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at the Institute of Journalism of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.

He was awarded the Order of Merit, II (2014) and III degrees (2010).
