Petro Panchuk is one of the leading masters of the stage at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre. An actor whose work is marked by a distinct artistic vision and a profound reflection of life’s events and conflicts, he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to the art of theatre. His performances in film and radio have also gained great acclaim among audiences and listeners alike.

His recent theatrical roles, particularly in productions such as The Idiot, The Brothers Karamazov, Martin Borulia, The Kaidash Family, Natalka Poltavka, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, and The Master by I. Karpenko-Karyi, have received high praise from both critics and theatre enthusiasts. A special milestone in his career is his portrayal of Taras Shevchenko in the play Divine Solitude. In 2015, for his embodiment of the great Ukrainian poet in a production at the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theater of Drama, Panchuk was awarded the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine. His presence in cinema is equally significant, with notable roles in films such as The Return, Slaughterhouse, East–West, SMERSH, The Thaw, and Executed Dawns. As a director, he has staged several productions, including Dreadnoughts by Y. Grishkovets at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre’s Theater in the Foyer.

Panchuk is a Merited Artist of Ukraine, a laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, and a recipient of the prestigious Kyiv Pectoral theatre award. His contributions have been recognized with an honorary diploma from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine for his significant personal input in shaping cultural values and his outstanding professional excellence. He has also received two distinctions for achievements in the development of culture and the arts, the Mykola Gogol International Literary Prize Triumph for his extensive recordings of Ukrainian literary classics as audiobooks, and the Gold Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
