Vasyl Perevalskyi works in the field of book graphic arts, easel graphics and painting, and is proficient in various graphic arts techniques. While still a student, he started working as a graphic artist for leading Ukrainian publishing houses, designing and illustrating books.
The artist was widely recognised for his cycles of illustrations for book editions of Ukrainian song folklore, classical and contemporary Ukrainian poetry, as well as easel engravings and bookplates. From the beginning of his creative career, Vasyl Perevalskyi created an imaginative world on a deeply national basis, always turning to folk art and traditions of ancient Ukrainian icon painting and engraving, Ukrainian graphics of the 20-30s of the 20th century. In his work, the artist consistently and steadily affirms the high ideals of love for national culture, supports the initiative to preserve and enhance it, and dedicates a lot of energy and effort to the training and education of book artists as a teacher. As an academic secretary of the Department of Fine Arts, he contributes to the organisation and implementation of conferences, round tables, and exhibitions.
