Vitalii Shostia works in the fields of poster art and graphic design. A highly skilled professional, he is the author of the concept for the new Ukrainian poster and the organiser of numerous creative projects. He is an active participant in national and the most prestigious international exhibitions and a multiple-time laureate of both national and international poster competitions. A special place in his artistic oeuvre belongs to posters dedicated to the theme of national revival. His solo exhibitions have been held in many cities across Ukraine as well as in Germany and Poland. Shostia successfully combines his fruitful creative work with teaching. His works are held in museums and private collections both in Ukraine and abroad. Artistic refinement, compositional clarity with all its precisely calibrated components, the depth and precision of metaphor and symbol, and a free command of typography — all these and many other qualities echo throughout his creative palette and resonate within the practice of Ukrainian poster art. In his creative pursuits, Shostia pays particular attention to issues of national revival, the native language, ecology, history, and culture. He is the author of conceptual ideas and the implementer of contemporary artistic projects in the field of graphic design. He has also published writings on the development of poster art and design.

1942 — born on April 22 in the city of Ak-Bulak, Orenburg region (Russia).
1970 — graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute with a degree in Graphic Arts.
Since 1970 — has taught at the Kyiv State Art Institute (now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture).
Since 2004 — Head of the Department of Design at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
