Vadym Skurativskyi has over 2000 entries in his bibliography of research papers and publications. The very titles of his scientific works show a wide range of interests of the author: cinematography, cultural studies, literature, history. Among the most important scientific works: "The Cinematic Arts in the Socio-Cultural Processes of the 20th Century: Genesis. Structure. Function" (1997), "The Problem of Attribution of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" (2001). In 2016, Skurativskyi's book Sketches On Film Studies was published, and in 2020, the monograph Skurativskyi in the KINO-KOLO (Cinema Circle) (1997-2008) was published.
His publications "From Notes on the Film Image Question" (1999), "In Memory of Walter Benjamin" (2000), "In Memory of Cinematic Semiotics" (2001), "The Formula of Ukrainian History" (2015), "From Notes On the 120th Anniversary of Cinematography" (2015), and numerous publications and television programmes on cultural studies have become widely known among scholars. V. Skurativskyi takes an active part in scientific conferences, symposia, discussions, supervises theses, and appears as an opponent at theses defences.

Since 2001, he has been a professor at the Department of TV Directing at the I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, and since 2021, he has been a professor at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. He has acted in feature films: "The Birthmark" (1991), "Josephine the Singer, or the Mouse Folk" (1994), "The Smile of the Beast" (1997-1999), "The Noise of the Wind" (2002), etc.

He was awarded the Gold Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
