Anatoliy Solovianenko graduated from the Law Faculty of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and also gained higher education from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts with a degree in Theatre Directing.
In 2000, he started working at the National Opera of Ukraine as an Assistant Director. In 2005, after completing his postgraduate studies at the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, he successfully defended his PhD thesis on the Opera-Directing Activity of Iryna Molostova. For the stage of the Taras Shevchenko Opera and Ballet Theatre, where he is the Chief Director, he has directed a series of outstanding productions, including Moses by M. Skoryk, Yaroslav the Wise by H. Maiboroda, Norma by V. Bellini, Don Carlos by G. Verdi, The Tale of Tsar Saltan by M. Rimsky-Korsakov, The Cossack Beyond the Danube by S. Hulak-Artemovsky, Mozart and Salieri by M. Rimsky-Korsakov, and The Barber of Seville by G. Rossini. A. Solovianenko is the author and host of the television project " Entr'acte with Anatoliy Solovianenko" of the National Television Company of Ukraine, where he has aired nearly 100 TV programmes, and has been the chief director of more than 500 national and international art events and concert programmes.
He has been awarded the Order of Merit of the 3rd, 2nd and 1st Class, and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th and 4th Class. He is also a recipient of the Order of Honour, the highest state award of Georgia, by order of the President of Georgia. In 2015, Solovianenko was the first Ukrainian opera director to be awarded the Order of the Star of Italy for his significant contribution to the promotion of Italian culture.
