Oleg Veklenko is a professor at the Department of Graphic Design at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. Combining pedagogical practice with active creative activity, Oleg Veklenko has achieved remarkable success in poster art, graphic design, book and easel graphics. One of the first significant achievements of the young artist was a series of theatre posters for performances of the Kharkiv State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M. Lysenko (1982-1985).
The work of O. Veklenko in the 1980s formed the core of such a striking phenomenon in the poster art of Ukraine as the "Kharkiv Theatre Poster". In 1991, to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster, O. Veklenko launched the International Triennial of Environmental Posters and Graphics "4th Block", which immediately proved to be a significant event in the field of graphic design in the post-Soviet space and attracted the attention of the world art community. He is a talented graphic designer with a wide range of skills. Masterfully mastering various graphic techniques and computer technologies, Veklenko actively works in graphic design, constantly participates in numerous national and international exhibitions.
Among the realised design projects are the development of the graphic style of the All-Ukrainian Triennial of Arts (Kyiv, 1998), the design of the album-catalogue to the 60th anniversary of the Kharkiv organisation of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine "Artistic Ways of Kharkiv Region" (1998), the design of the album of Kharkiv painters "Ideal Landscape" (2005), the development of the graphic style of publications of the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2007), etc. O. Veklenko organised the exhibition of posters of the Association of Graphic Designers "4th Block" "Ukraine. Holodomor. 1932-33", which was successfully exhibited in the premises of the Presidium of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine in 2008, created a series of posters (24 posters) "Chernobyl in my heart", a series of environmental posters of the Association "4th Block" (2012-2013). O. Veklenko has a considerable number of publications in professional journals. His methodological manuals for the specialisation "Graphic Design" are extensively used in the educational process.

Institute (now Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts).
Since 1991 – President of the International Triennial of Environmental Posters and Graphics "4th Block".1997–1989 – Lecturer, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Industrial Graphics at the Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute.1993 – Professor at the Kharkiv Institute of Art and Industry (now Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts).2000–2003 – Head of the Department of Graphic Design at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts.From 2004 to the present day – Professor of the Department of Graphic Design at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts.2009 – elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2006).
