Nataliia Vladymyrova, after graduating from the Kyiv State Institute of Theatrical Arts, began her career at the State Museum of Theatre, Music, and Cinema of Ukraine. In 1992, she defended her PhD dissertation, and in 2009, she completed her PhD research and was awarded the academic title of professor. N. Vladymyrova is the author of over 100 scientific publications, including the monograph "Western European Theatre in the Dynamics of the Cultural and Creative Process at the Turn of the 19th–20th Centuries." She is also a co-author of several collective studies, the first programme-outline in Ukrainian theatre studies, "History of Theatre in Western Europe and the USA," and three specialised textbooks.
N. Vladymyrova is a renowned researcher of both international and Ukrainian theatre history, a theatre critic, and an active participant and organiser of artistic events and academic conferences. Her critical voice is frequently heard on television and radio programmes that explore the historical and contemporary issues of theatrical culture. For over 30 years, she has been engaged in teaching at the Department of Theatre Studies at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema, and Television. She has also repeatedly served as Chair of the State Examination Commission at the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and other artistic educational institutions in Ukraine.

For many years, N. Vladymyrova was a member of the Specialised Academic Council for defending PhD and doctoral dissertations at the M. T. Rylskyi Institute of Art Studies, Folklore, and Ethnology. She is a member of several editorial boards of professional publications and regularly collaborates with the Attestation Commission for defending dissertations under the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. She also contributes to the work of expert groups under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Since 2023, she has been the Head of the Department of Theatre Studies at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema, and Television.
