Valentyna Vyrodova-Gauthier is a renowned master of portraiture, thematic compositions, and landscape painting. Her artistic individuality is defined by a deep sense of patriotism, a purposeful approach to expressing significant contemporary themes, and exceptional dedication to her craft. Her works are distinguished by a bold compositional imagination and a profound sensitivity to colour.
The central theme of her art lies in the portrayal of her contemporaries. Valentyna Vyrodova-Gauthier’s paintings captivate with their striking clarity and conciseness of composition, a unique connection to nature, the grandeur of Ukrainian people’s imagery, and her mastery of colour and drawing. Her refined painting technique, rich imagery, and poetic depth have earned her widespread recognition among art experts and admirers both in Ukraine and abroad.
For over 50 years, she devoted her creative life to teaching at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAFAA), progressing from assistant to professor of the Department of Painting. She has passed on her knowledge and skills to numerous generations of painters.
